Mercat del Riurau Jesús Pobre Sunday Market Costa Blanca
There’s something truly special about Sunday mornings at the Mercat del Riurau in Jesús Pobre. Today I spent a beautiful few hours there, and it honestly felt like stepping into the heart of authentic Mediterranean life on the Costa Blanca.
The market takes place inside the historic Riurau building and is open every Sunday from around 9:00 until 14:00. If you arrive around 11:30 to 12:30, you’ll experience it at its best lively, social, and full of energy.
What makes this market so special is the atmosphere.
People sitting together, enjoying tapas and a glass of local wine, listening to live music under the warm sun… it feels more like a relaxed Sunday gathering than a market.

And my dog? Every five minutes a new friend, a new play session… pulling me from one corner to another 😂 It’s completely pet-friendly, and you can feel how welcoming and open everything is.
At Mercat del Riurau you’ll find:
- Handmade local products and artisan crafts
- Fresh organic vegetables and seasonal fruits
- Traditional breads, pastries, and homemade food
- Local olive oil, cheeses, and regional specialties
- Carefully selected Costa Blanca wines
This is not a tourist market it’s a real local experience. Perfect if you want to discover the lifestyle of the North Costa Blanca, close to Jávea, Dénia, and Moraira.
